There’s something so empowering about 3 women in the backcountry, bushwhacking their way through the terrain with a GPS (named Maximus), a harmonica to scare away the bears, and hours of laughter. Of all the backcountry trips I’ve done so far, this was one of my favourites. Rather than follow a well marked trail, we pretty much made our own. Our scratched and bruised legs are proof that we did take a bit of a beating but made it to untouched and magical spots. We were so empowered that we decided next year, instead of only 3 nights, we’re going to tackle the entire thing even if it takes a whole week.
I’ve found a new favourite spot with memories of challenges, laughter and uplifting, inspiring friendships.
Happiness. You can bring it with you wherever you go.
(We named this favourite spot of ours, the Valley View Cafe. We will be back!)
