6:30am. Coffee in hand. The doors open to the ward. There’s an eery sense of ‘something has just happened’. I poke my head into a room, and what do I see? A crowded room filled with a blue scrubbed team of nurses and doctors surrounding one patient. One patient whose chest is being pushed up and down, whose body is being flailed in the same way with the pressure of the determined. One unfortunate patient. One last breath. One moment. But with it, so many simple reminders.
Every moment that my brain was given the chance to breathe during my busy day, it was filled with gentle reminders. Little love notes if you will. Filled with inspiration. Filled with life. So here goes. Here’s a few I thought I’d share. A few that I gained from seeing this simple reminder.
Live healthy. Be kind to your heart and take it for a walk. Exercise. Get off the couch. Get outside. Eat more vegetables. Tell your loved ones that you love them. You can never hear this word enough. Take more pictures. Make time for your family. Make time for your friends. One of our most precious gifts is time. Say yes. Say yes more often than not. Eat chocolate. Surround yourself with people that make you laugh. That make you feel good. Laugh harder. Smile often. Dream bigger. Above all? Strive for a balance of optimal health. Whatever healthy is to you, live this. LIVE HEALTHY. Please. Live healthy.
Life is not a dress rehearsal. Take the risks. Breathe it all in. Make every moment count.
Smile with your heart.
