Day 2 – Utah Bound!

Thank you for all of the birthday wishes!  It was a good day, I have to say.  Not too eventful, due to a stomach bug which decided to join me for the last few days, but it was still a good day.  To just chill out and take it all in.  Lots and lots of love.  I’m a happy camper.  Thank you.  My night out in my dirty thirty t-shirt will have to be put on hold – watch out Vancouver for that one!

So my year of adventure bliss has already begun.  Already checking off this year’s bucket list.  4 nurses.  1 Adventure.  Utah bound!  We’re headed to a Wilderness Medicine Conference in Park City, Utah.  6 days of Adventure.  I can’t tell you how excited we are.  This is gonna be good!  I’ll try and write as much as I can, but if it was anything like the last course I went too – good luck.  Beer lab anyone?  No joke.  My rubber arm will be in full force.

  1. Awesome! I used to be on the ski patrol @Deer Valley, and volunteer for the Park City Ski Patrol (15 years ago!!). I was also a member of the national ski patrol. It really is the best snow on earth. Red Rock Brewery has great beer & food, and as a bonus, there’s a fantastic Whole Foods Market a stone’s throw away from the brewery. You might even see Baron Baptiste up there-he has a home and spends time there in the winter. Possibly the Lululemon showroom up there is now a store (it’s been a few years since I’ve been back). If you get a chance, in the Spring or Fall you should think about visiting Southern Utah-it’s just magical.
    Happy Birthday-life just gets better!! Loved your t-shirt yesterday! I have to ask, how many days a week do you work out & for how long? I’m soon to be celebrating my 42 birthday, and I want to get into the best shape of my life (relative, of course!).

    • Thanks for the tips!! Will DEFINITELY aim to check out that pub (and whole foods and lulu too.. sounds like a great place!). As for working out? I aim for kickboxing 3 times a week, running 3 times a week and yoga 4-5 times. It depends with my work schedule, as I don’t seem to have many days off lately! But this is what I aim for :) Yoga yoga yoga. That is what seems to keep me balanced!

  2. Utah is the place to be! (I’m here until Monday…Small world!) There’s a 10-year-since-the-2002-olympics-celebration going on in Park City. You won’t run out of things to do, that’s for sure! And we even got some snow last night. :)

  4. I LOVE UTAH – one of my favorite places is MOAB!!! Have a great time at the “Wilderness Medicine Conference” – just love the sounds of that…super smart and caring people that love the outdoors…pretty wicked! Erin

I saw your goal list from the last post you did–I know the volunteer coordinator for the Adventist Hospital in Port-au-Prince, Haiti–I was able to organize a dental trip to the hospital there (unfortunately I wasn’t able to go on it, but the trip still happened haha), and they usually have orthopedic surgeons there, so I’m sure they could use volunteer nurses, if you want her contact info let me know! PS have a GREAT time in utah! so jealous. and PPS hope you had an EXCELLENT birthday!
