Day 10 – When you least expect it….

Hmmmm… where to start.  How about with this quote from The Artist’s Way:

“Often people attempt to live their lives backwards: they try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want so that they will be happier.  The way it actually works is the reverse.  You must first be who you really are, then, do what you need to do, in order to have what you want.” – Margaret Young

The best things in life seem to happen when you least expect them.  Especially when you don’t need them at all.  When you’ve let go of any outcome whatsoever.  When you’re in a state of happiness and bliss.  When you’re just be-ing in the moment.  For all of you who noticed the double smiley face a few blogs ago, and have wondered what the answer might be to the familiar question I seem to have been getting lately?  I’m happy to say that the answer is ‘yes’.  :)  I was doing what I loved and some how managed to get swept off my feet by an amazing man.  Life was pretty darn good before the bike race, but now, life can’t seem to get much better.  Get ready for some exciting adventures.  Who knew there was someone almost identical to me out there?!!   Someone who is embarking on his own adventure up north for the next few months – but don’t worry – there are already plenty of adventures in the works.  This could be trouble!  In only a few weeks, we’ve already climbed a mountain, ran up a mountain, had a butterfly come land on the both of us and even come a few feet from almost stepping on a bear, just to name a few.  That poor guy was minding his own business last night in the middle of the trail and was probably more scared  of me and my horrific scream than I was of him.  My legs wouldn’t stop shaking for a good half hour after that!  Good times are ahead.  That’s for sure! :)

As soon as we let go, as soon as we stop worrying about the ‘how’, it will just flow into our lives.  Expect greatness.  Expect that today is going to be the best day of your life.  The day I wrote about “the best day of your life”, I had written a note on my iPhone to remind myself to blog about it.  I stumbled upon it the other day when I was reading over some notes.  I ended up just leaving it on my to-do list, so everyday one of the things I read  is this: “have the best day of your life”.  What a great reminder.  I think I will!

On any given day, life can change faster than we can blink.  It’s always when you least expect it too.  It might be amazing news or it might be not so great news.  We don’t know when our time on this earth will be up.  So make sure to have the best day of your life.  Today.  Choose this.  It’s your choice.  If you are being true to yourself and doing what you love, your dream life will be waiting for you.  You are guaranteed to have the life you’ve always imagined.  You just have to believe that it’s there.  Don’t worry about how.  Just live each day as if it were your last, give more, love more and believe.  Believe that anything really is possible.

Smile with your heart!

It is so true that when you stop looking it happens:) Same thing with my fiance and i! I was totally not interested in a relationship and happy being on my own and then bam i met him. I played hard to get too at first because i was scared to get into another relationship. Sure glad i went for “just dinner”. I love how you say just to be and to live everyday like it’s your best day! Awesome way to look at it! Keep on smiling:)

  3. YAY! I was waiting for this big announcement!!!! :) Even through your blog, you are glowing! I meet my husband at a point in my life when I just didn’t care about relationships (not in a bad way). I was focused on grad school, moving, and enjoying life. One day he just showed up and now we are married and having a baby! Life is wonderful when you let it take over!!!!

  4. I wish I still lived in vancouver because it sounds like you are having so much fun

  6. :-) I’m really happy for you!! What a beautiful and exiting news!! :-)

You’re inspiring me too! I’m beginning my 3rd “40 Day Challenge” next week!!!!! It helped me to quit my job, which I was doing for the last 5 years, and that I didn’t like anymore for at least the last 2 1/2 years… I was tired and almost got sick… I couldn’t quit because I was telling myself ” you can’t quit before you find something else, you need money, you need a job!!” But, after reading your blog every day, it opened my eyes!! I quit because I wrote it down in my first “40 Day Challenge”… It was an amazing feeling when I wrote “DONE” next to the 1st point of the list!!!!! :-) I don’t have a new job yet, but I know that my decision is taking me to the right place.
