Day 1 – Just do it already!

Just do it already – everything you’ve wanted to do.  Everything you keep saying, “I’ll get to it one day”.  If you want to do something, just take the plunge already! What a perfect day, right now.  To start fresh.  Another 40 day challenge begins!!! Why 40 days?  Because it takes roughly 40 days to begin a habit, or to break one for that matter.  I’m hooked on them.  They’ve definitely added so much more to my life. Small, achievable steps to achieve big and hairy goals.  AND it just helps to keep me on track.

(This is how every great Canadian road trip starts – a trip to Tim Hortons) :)

I’m in TOFINO with Chrissy!  So I wont’ write much – we’re just taking a walk-around break with a latte in one of my favourite coffee shops here.  The sun is shining, surfboards are everywhere to be seen and the shorts and t-shirts are making their summer appearance!  Tofino is one of my magical places.  It’s on the west coast of Vancouver Island – looking out to Japan, thousands of miles away, if you want to picture it like that.  About a 3 hour drive from the fairy terminal across from Vancouver.  HEAVEN!!!  Here’s just a few pics, thought I’d post them in case I don’t have internet tonight.  I’ll be posting my goals tomorrow – but it’s DAY ONE!!  NEW BEGINNINGS!!  April 22 – it all begins RIGHT NOW!

Tiny Devotions – West Coast Style, gum boots and all!!

It’s all about having a healthy balance! – Shelter Restaurant – favourite in Tofino!

Ahhhhhhhh!  Life is BLISS!

Smile with your heart!

  1. Hi Jenn!

I replied to your blog posts (in gerenal) a few weeks ago to let you know that you have inspired me to continue to finish my second degree, in nursing WHILE pursing other goals. In a more recent blog post about your delicious meals, you used The Anti-Inflammation Diet and Recipe book by Jessica Black, ND. So, I bought it off Amazon (which delivered way faster than I thought they would). I have read it once, not thoroughly, but is she saying that if you have an allergy to say wheat then you could potentially eliminate this allergy? I read an article somewhere too about children with anaphylactic allergies to peanuts that could eliminate their allergy by slowly reintroducing peanuts into their diet. Is it the same for someone with celiac disease?

    Keep posting inspirational blogs!

    • Hi Natalie!! I’m glad you’re enjoying the book. I’ll ask this question to one of my best friends Nat, who is a Naturopathic Doctor, who recommended me this book. She’s great at questions like these! i’ll keep you posted!

  2. I have no idea what I’ll be doing for the 40 day challenge, but I’m excited to join in the fun!

I’m a relatively new reader– I found you through a lulu blog post re: your photo shoot and just fell in love with your energy. Thanks so much for sharing your heart with the world!

i think i should go visit Tofino before i leave Canada, it looks so peaceful ;) how long is the drive?
    enjoy it up there !!!!

    • Tofino is a MUST GO!!! about 45 minutes to horseshoe bay from downtown Vancouver, 1.5 hour ferry ride to Nanaimo and then I’d say about 2.5-3 hour drive to Tofino. It’s AMAZING!! :)

  4. Jenn,

I just want to say that you are such an amazing person!! I’ve been reading your blogs every day for the past 40 days, and you have just lifted my spirits so high! I have been kind of down in the dumps lately, PLUS I broke my foot awhile ago from running (just got my boot off – yay!) and just did not feel like doing much of anything. But I remember reading one of your blogs awhile ago that said to just say yes! Say yes to invites from your friends! And it has made a huge difference in my life. I’m currently completing my elementary and special education degrees right now and have needed some inspiration to get through the tough work, and you are my savior!! I look forward to your blogs every night! Just wanted to let you know how big of an impact you have on peoples’ lives, even when you don’t know them :) Thank you for doing all you do. I aspire to be someone like you!

    -Mandy :)

  5. You look great in the pics. Love the savasana scarf?, I think that’s the name. Amazing pic w/ mala on beach. Wow, I talked about wanting to come to BC this summer, now you’re making HAVE to get there soon. Have a great Easter, can’t wait to read more. It’s nice here in Ontario, but not shorts, bathing suits yet.
