Day 17 – When the student is ready, the teacher will come

This was definitely the theme for today.  Melissa and I were in an uncomfortable situation last night having had a conversation with some not so good people.  I guess when you’re tired, it’s harder to listen to your gut.  There are just some not so great people in this world, and it’s sometimes hard believing this when you are such a kind soul yourself.  It’s a good thing to learn I guess to not trust anyone, unfortunately.  Safety always comes first.

So anyways, today was an “ah-ha” moment day for us.  The owner of our hostel started chatting to us and seemed to be this amazing teacher who came out of no where.  She just had all the right things to say.  A wise and caring soul.  Again, we were feeling that everything was happening for a reason, and this lady just so happened to be here at the right time.  I had asked for guidance the night before, asking why we had met some not so nice people.  She just started giving us all this advice which had everything to do with what had happened on our trip so far.  Something started to shift after this.  EVERYTHING was beginning to make sense.  I feel that I am FINALLY able to receive so many new and exciting life lessons because I am becoming comfortable myself.  I am READY to learn.  She was explaining this as well.  That once we let our “roles” down, our subconscious is able to come into play.  This is who and what we really are.  Not what society tells us to be.  Once we let this guide us (our heart and soul – in other words) everything will start rolling, with momentum.  And that’s just what is starting to happen.

We went to a coffee shop to get a cookie which I really wanted, and to sit in some big comfy chairs which Melissa really wanted.  Sitting across those big comfy chairs which we had been visualizing was a friendly couple who just so happened to be writing a list for their vision board.  Melissa just so happened to bring 3 magazines to the coffee shop to cut-out to make a vision board.  Our new friends were stoked about our yoga class and goal session.  We all inspired each other, and helped us all to see that following good energy and following your heart is the only way to go.  When we said our goodbyes, he said “stay good”.

I like that.  Stay good.  Follow your gut and your heart.  Follow good energy.  Let go of your roles and start to listen to that part of yourself that is calling you to finally listen to it.

That is me on this trip.  Listening to that part of me that was always bottled inside.  Now that I’m letting my true colors show, I’m coming up with idea after idea after idea.  The life that I’ve always imagined is showing me how to actually manifest it.  It now is a no brainer.  All the pieces are coming together.  Melissa and I are continuing to follow the clues from the universe.  We’re just going with the flow, and avoiding what’s too hard (like trying to get to Margaret River for example, not gonna happen right now.  Not MEANT to happen right now).  So we’ve got our next clue.  This friendly couple gave us a name of a cool coffee shop a few towns away which we’re going to check out tomorrow.  Who knows what or who we will meet along this way.  Following our hearts!  It feels so good!

Here’s a quote from Elizabeth Gilbert.  Thanks for posting this Tiny Devotions!

“if you’re brave enough to leave behind everything familiar and comforting, which can be anything from your house to bitter old resentments, and set out on a truth seeking journey either externally or internally. And if you are truly willing to regard everything that happens to you on the journey as a clue and if you accept everyone along the way as a teacher. And if you are prepared, most of all, to face and forgive some very difficult realities about yourself then the truth will not be withheld from you.”

Smile with your heart!
